An intentional and collaborative effort between African stakeholders will be required to unlock the potential of cannabis for economic growth, rural development, job creation, poverty alleviation, affordable healthcare, sustainable industrialisation and climate change.
The job creation potential of the cannabis industry is undeniable. Over 300,000 legal cannabis jobs have been created in the USA to date. By our estimates, the cannabis industry has the potential to create over 250,000 sustainable jobs across Africa over the next 10 years.
